So I have been puting of blogging about me and mommy's 2 week driving spree because there was so much to talk about and sooooo many pictures. We started our journey after a long day of Briley's park birthday party in the morning and our friends park birthday party in the evening. After all of the festivities we loaded ourselves and the 2 kids along with all of our luggage and an extremely large cooler in the back of my mom's car (filled with an ample supply of rockstars). Our first stop was Denton to see my sister Christine's family. We spent the night and hung out with the family Sunday morning. Uncle Kevin and big cousin's, Hadley and Hayden, got to meet Kimber for the 1st time. After a morning of play we got on the road for our long awaited trip to Omaha.

After the kids took a long nap in the car it was perfect timing to stop in Norman, OK to see one of my best friends and her new baby. Jill and I had our first sons 2 months apart and our second children were also around the same timing. While the big boys played (really Briley was trying to take Calvin's toys and fight over golf balls) I got to see 1 week old baby Clark. He was so precious and tiny its hard to believe Kimber was almost that small just a few months before. She is such a wonderful friend and I wish our kids could grow up living closer together but I know we will always stay in touch and see them as much as possible.

After a 13 hour drive in the car we made it to Omaha around 1 in the morning. It is always fun to go see my sister and the kids because there seems like so much to do there, plus a whole bunch of toys. This was a definite fav of Briley's was the big bathtub we made for them. They were all so dirty so one night we filled up the pool with bubbles and water and let the kids play.

On Tuesday we all headed to the Children's museum in Omaha. It was wonderful and I was really wishing we had something like this in San Angelo. They had water to play with, a really cool ball room and a whole section dedicated to Clifford the Big Red Dog. They all had a blast and it felt great to get out of the house even though it takes a lot of skill and planning with this many kids.

Because Briley Looooooooooves trains and Sarah has a family pass to the Durham train museum we decided to get all the kids out of the house on Thursday. Briley had a blast running around with his big cousins and seeing the trains. It ended with a nice lunch at the museums soda shop, complete with a ice cream shake.

On Friday, Sarah, Kyle and I took the big kids to see Toy Story 3 in 3-d. Gavin has always been a super fan and Briley is headed right in his foot steps. Briley might have enjoyed it more if he wore the glasses because he watched the blurry movie for almost 50 minutes without them. After a while he had enough sitting so I chased him around outside the theater while it was finishing up. This made me really sad because the movie was really funny, so I guess we will have to buy it when it comes out.

After our week in Omaha we sadley left my sister and the kids to head to Iowa. This was only about a 4.5 hour trip and we ended in some small town in South East Iowa ( I can't remember the name of the town right now). We were headed there for the Johnson family reunion and I really wanted my grandparents to see baby Kimber for the 1st time.

Iowa was beautiful and Briley loved all of the green grass to roll and play in. After all that he did I am suprised we only found 1 tick in his head :(

After 2 days in Iowa we were headed for our worst leg of the trip. We wanted to go see my Aunt Patsy's new house so we headed to East Texas and took the scenic route through the Ozark mountains. I don't want to get to much into the trip but I can sum it up in one sentence. 2 kids, no dvd player because the batter never got charged, many poopy diapers and it took 16, yes 16 hours to get there. At least the drive was beautiful but that was about the only positive.
After a rather relaxing 2.5 days at my Aunt Patsy's in Hawkins we headed for only a 6 hour drive back to San Antonio. We did stop for a little while at the Outlet mall which is always fun. Brian met us there and we made the 3 hour drive back to San Angelo. It was really good to get back home after our 2 week trip but it was so much fun. I loved hanging out with my mom and seeing all of my family but I think me and the kids are done driving for a while.
