Christmas #1

Since this is the Christmas with my parents we celebrated this weekend with the Perkins Family. We all piled in Mary's (Brian's mom) new car to meet Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Perkins at a wonderful little restaurant in Tuscola, Texas called The Homeplace. It was an old farmhouse that served really good homecooked food (the mac n' cheese was the best). After a wonderful lunch we headed back to our house to let Briley get his first opportunity to open up presents. He was too small last Christmas, and way to tired at his 1st birthday. After present time Brian's parents joined us at Paul Ann Baptist to a Christmas concert with an amazing singer named Anthony Evans. It was a perfect day full of Christmas festivities and I am so excited for Christmas #2.

It's Official!

He was such a sweet little baby.

And now he is sweet Big Boy!

Briley is officially 1.5 years old. We just went in for his check up and thankful he has done a little more growing compared to the last appointment. I believe both height and weight were under the 20th percentile. Well he weighed in at 23 lbs (17th percentile) and he was 32.75 in (67th percentile). So we have ourselves a tall/skinny little boy. I can't believe he is 18 months and will be a big brother shortly. We absolutely love every minute with him and its crazy how much joy children can bring to your life.

A way overdue blog

This year we had a lot to be thankful for... we have wonderful family and friends, Brian got a promotion, I have a healthy baby girl growing inside of me, and Brian's Grandpa had a successful heart surgery where they put a pacemaker in. God is sooooo Goood! We had a wonderful day in Abilene with Grandma and Grandpa Perkins, and the food was amazing, too.
I really wish I could get Briley to wear his hats because he has a huge collection, but he loves wearing Brian and my hats backwards or sideways. It's hilarious so I uploaded a few of the pictures.

This is a picture from 20 wks 3 days. I have successfully passed the half way mark and baby Kimber Lindsay is kicking like crazy. Everytime she moves I can't help but feel joy of the miracle that God is giving to Brian and I. I will post more belly pictures once there is more changes.

No Tricks, Just Treats

Briley as a little monkey

Briley was able to go Trick or Treating for the 1st time this year and it was wonderful. We went over to a friends home so we could go with their 2 year old son, Judson. They had an awesome wagon that made things a lot easier and we just wheeled Briley up to the door.

Briley and Judson in the wagon. He was a golfer and they were adorable together. I am already thinking about what Briley will be next year.

Daddy's Softball Games

Briley and I love to go watch Brian play co-ed club softball. We only get to go to the early games and Briley loves to see his daddy on the field.

Showing off my baby bump!

Well today, Sunday, the baby turned 15 weeks. Somedays I feel like I have a bump and some days I don't. Well today there was a definite bump and I couldn't be happier so I thought I would show it off.

MeMo's 83rd B-day Weekend

This past weekend we traveled to Junction, along with the whole family, to celebrate Memo's 83rd Birthday. The weather was perfect for a wonderful day outdoors. We went to Aunt Sherry's house which sits on tons of land with a view of the river. There was lots of games for the kids to run and play the entire day, and plenty of reclining chairs and a hammock for the adults to lay down and relax.
This is a picture of all the grandkids. Briley didn't want to take the picture but he was so happy the rest of the day.

Helping Memo push her walker.

Playing Football with Daddy.

I just wanted to add a picture of Hunter. He is such a sweet and not to mention beautiful puppy. He is quickly catching up to his daddy.

Baby's 1st Pictures/ Briley's big haircut

Okay so Brian and I were eager to go to the doctor last thursday so we could finally see our little baby. My first sonogram didn't show anything but the sac because it was too early. Well we were pleasantly suprised that when they measured the baby he/she was 1 wk further along than I thought. So today I am officially 13 weeks (the last week of the 1st trimester) and the due date is April 18th. I am starting to feel better. Night times are still kind of rough and unfortunately I still suffer from constant hunger, hence the 5 lb weight gain already. But it is all worth it to see the beautiful, perfect, gift from God in my stomach. The first picture shows a perfect profile of baby perkins, and the 2nd is a little more closer view.

You can make out the hand by the mouth and you can see the little mouth and eyes in this one. He/she was kicking and it looked like it was chewing on its hands.
So these next couple pictures are the reason for Briley's big haircut. I love Briley's hair, especially when it does a little flip by his ears, but he was in need of a trim. So I decided to take it upon myself to cut his bangs. Well I learned my lesson after 2 seperate attempts at cutting. His bangs were so crooked and really funny to look at. Good thing he never noticed.

So the next few pictures got really out of order, which I hate it when they do that but this is Briley after the cut. It really is cute and makes him look so old, but I think Brian and I are partial to the slightly longer hair. Maybe we are just trying to hang on to our little boy for as long as we can.
And this was suppose to be at the end but this is Brian and I at the Catwalk for the Cure in San Angelo. A wonderful Breast Cancer Awareness event.

Okay so Aunt Leah did the tough job of cutting his hair. We gave him a sucker, which he loved, but he also loved to rub his sticky fingers through his hair. He got a little squirmy as we were cutting the back so I didn't take any pictures of that.

Another post-cut shot of Briley playing with his cousins pom-poms. I am thinking he might look really cute with a little gel.

Well that is the Perkins' update. We get to find out the sex of the baby in 6 weeks, so continue to keep little baby Perkins in your prayers.

A Family Update

Well I haven't officially announced that baby #2 is on the way. I am 10 weeks along and the due date is around April 25th (I will get a more accurate due date at my next appointment). I am sooooo excited about being pregnant but this one has been so much harder than Briley. I have been nauseous for the past 5 weeks. Its getting better but its the worst at night and not too mention the constant hunger and the extreme exhaustion. I have already gained 3 pounds which I don't believe I gained any with Briley until like 14 weeks. I have been diligently taking my weekly belly pics but I guess I am not showing as much as I feel. I probably should take the pics at night becuase my stomach is so much larger then. I have a few pants that no longer fit and alot of them are already getting really uncomfortable. I will keep you updated on the growing little kumquat (thats how big he/she is).

Hunting season has officially begun and we have already had 2 weekends with visitors. Brian's friends Brandon and Clark came for opening weekend and my cousin, Chris was able to come the following week.

There is nothing new with Briley except that he gets cuter and cuter. Oh and he finally sais momma along with several other things. He also is our little daredevil. He climbs on anything he can and is getting better at getting down. I think we are going to have several bumps and bruises along the way and just realized today that i don't own any neosporin. It is definitely on the shopping list.

Wearing his first jeans for the fall season. They are slightly long but he'll grow into them soon enough.
Hunter is getting so big and is quickly catching up to his dad. He is a wonderful puppy, nothing has been chewed, and him and fisher love eachother so much. Having 2 dogs has been suprisingly one of the best things we have done.

Brian got a smoker/griller for his birthday. He attempted brisket a week ago and took it out about 5 hours too soon. So he decided to redeem himself this week with some amazing ribs. There was 3 huge racks so we invited his parents, sister and son, and memo.
The whole meal was wonderful and Briley got to enjoy corn on the cob for the 1st time.

Thats it for now. Since I am starting to feel better I plan on updating the blog more often and sharing pictures of our precious little boy.

Weekend at the River

Brian and I have been planning to hang out with my cousin Chris and his wife Britany (I'm pretty sure thats not how you spell it), so we took a road trip to Junction to stay at Brian's parents cabin. Brian's friend Clark and his wife, Julie, also joined. The main thing on the agenda was to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go on a kyaking trip.

We all were sporting the fishing shirt even though Chris and Brian were the only 2 that fished.

The boys always seemed to be ahead of the girls, but we held our own.

Taking a breather and resting our arms after about 3 hours rowing.

No, they weren't running into me, we had to stop rowing to take the picture. The trip ended up taking close to 5 hours and was pretty grueling at times. But it was nice to be outdoors enjoying the beautiful Texas landscape and I hope we can do it again real soon.
